Exhibition information

I create original linoprints taking inspiration from my local surroundings. My work primarily focuses on landscapes and small scenes from my walks around Oxford, Port Meadow and Wytham Woods, as well as further afield.
I love to seek out patterns in nature and use a mixture of organic shapes and decorative marks to create texture, depth and tone. I work mostly in monochrome (single layer block prints) but I am experimenting with reduction and multi block colour printing techniques.
Printmaking allows me to combine the creative -designing the image- with manual processes such as carving and inking which can be learned and developed with practice. I will often have a number of designs at different steps in the process – a day in the workshop is never dull!

I am happy to take commissions for prints, either from a broad concept or a specific reference image.

Artist information

I am an enthusiastic amateur printmaker living in Wolvercote with my spaniel Betty. I have always found art to be a therapeutic outlet and lean on it at times of increased stress or upheaval. Following an operation in 2022 I stumbled across linoprinting after some friends sent me a starter kit, and I’ve steadily become addicted since then. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing an idea make it from my head onto the block, especially the magic when the final image is revealed!

When I am not making prints, I can be found walking around Oxford’s numerous green spaces, or the rolling hills of Exmoor where I grew up.
