Exhibition information

Victoria’s work is a celebration of the whimsical and the atmospheric. From her evocative, memory laden landscapes to her characterful papier-mâché animal heads and bold ‘Mad Cat Woman’ acrylics, her art tells stories of resilience, humour, and the beauty of a restored perspective.

Artist information

Victoria Stanway is an Oxfordshire based artist whose work explores the interplay between memory, whimsy, and the human condition. A long standing member of the Oxford Art Society, Victoria is best known for her evocative “Landscapes of the Mind” and her characterful “Mad Cat Woman” series.

Her creative path recently took an unexpected, tactile turn. While navigating a period of reduced vision due to cataracts, Victoria channelled her artistic energy into a new medium, crafting a menagerie of vibrant papier-mâché animals. This creative pivot became a surprising new chapter in her portfolio. Today, following successful cataract surgery, Victoria is delighted to be returning to the easel with fresh perspective. This year’s Artweeks exhibition is a celebration of both her resilient spirit and her artistic evolution, featuring a mix of her beloved sculptural characters and paintings.
