Exhibition information
I am a pyrography artist burning boards, bowls, tealights and clocks using a variety of new, found and recycled wooden objects. My work is inspired by the natural world, and in particular the scaly, slimy and slithery. I have been burning for six years now and I am still fascinated by the complex tessellated structures of scaly creatures and the sinuous forms of the smooth and slimy. Coupled with the fascination of the creatures themselves is the sensual joy of the wood and its unique and individual reaction to heat. This year I have been experimenting with colour to contrast with the natural grain of the wood.
It’s a joy to be part of The Old School Art Collective again and to be working with artists old and new. For 2026, our exhibition will comprise mixed media art, abstract paintings, ceramics, pyrography, wood turning and miniature 3D worlds.
