Exhibition information
For Artweeks this year I shall be exhibiting FOR ONE WEEKEND ONLY, on 16–17 May, at Cassington Village Hall. This beautiful, light-filled venue in the heart of Cassington will also showcase the work of three other talented artists, Candida Rogers, Cordelia Rampley and Hannah Farncombe with a mix of painting, print making, drawing, sculpture and jewellery.
My show will include a selection of personal portraits, commissions and new paintings in oils plus drawings in pen and ink and coloured pencil, with limited edition giclée prints and some original work for sale.

Artist information
After working as a graphic designer for over 30 years, mostly in the less than glamorous world of corporate and technical literature, I reignited my love of drawing for the sake of drawing by embarking on a daily drawing challenge back in 2018. Posting on Instagram and getting some encouraging feedback (including having my sketch of a cheese grater accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2018) helped with the commitment and I had what I optimistically called my first solo exhibition in July 2019, ‘365 Days and Counting’, at Hemingway Art in Cassington. Mostly of ordinary things, often with a monthly theme, and all drawn in a series of small sketchbooks I eventually made over 1000 drawings.
Drawing led to a renewed interest in painting, particularly portraits, and in 2020 a portrait of friends, painted for their 50th Wedding anniversary, made it through the first round of judging for the BP Portrait Award.
Recently I have been working on commissioned drawings and paintings and otherwise mostly make paintings in oil of people, places and ordinary things. I have a preference for unusual and off-beat subjects and, thanks to a career in design, my work tends to be bold and graphic with pattern and detail.
