Exhibition information

I will be exhibiting and selling framed fine art prints of local landscapes in A2 and A3 size as well as a few larger pieces. A large range of A3 mounted prints will also be on sale and a selection of cards. You will be able to also enjoy browsing the work of three other artists, colourful clay bead jewellery by Jo, beautiful Nerikomi pottery by Suri and a sparkling collection of fused glass items by Fatmagul. The Parish Offices are a short walk from the High Street and will be clearly signposted.

Artist information

I enjoy walking and photographing local landscapes, be it a glorious beech wood carpeted by bluebells, a misty morning by the Thames or gorgeous autumn colours. I enjoy getting off the beaten track and finding new viewpoints to photograph with a particular interest in wildflowers, including bluebells, snowdrops, wild garlic and poppies and enjoy finding the best local places to capture their beauty, through the seasons. I love atmospheric weather conditions, particularly mist, and try to convey in my images what I felt when I witnessed a beautiful scene or moment. I take inspiration from paintings, especially impressionism, and try to give my images a painterly appearance. To get the images I want often requires planning and patience and multiple trips to a location to capture it in the best light – often requiring early starts. I like to get to know my area really well; many of my images are taken close to where I live in Stoke Row and I am also fond of photographing the woods near Christmas Common.

For most of my images I do my own printing and for larger images I use an excellent print company in Didcot. I have a professional-level printer and use Canon Pro Premium matte paper with Lucia pigment permanent inks. I have a good relationship with a framing shop in Thame to achieve a professional finish.

I sell framed and mounted prints and cards through my website www.wendyreedphotography.co.uk and at local exhibitions and craft fairs. A small selection of my prints is available for sale at Reeds Art & Framing and on view in Viv’s Café, Goring (RG8 9AY). I also sell my cards at Stoke Row Store (RG9 5QL) and The Blue Tin Farm Shop (OX10 6QU).
