Exhibition information
I am a ceramic artist based in Wallingford, creating both functional and sculptural pieces that celebrate raw material, texture, and form. My functional work is hand-thrown using rustic stoneware, with glazes applied sparingly to allow the natural qualities of the clay to remain present. Alongside this, I create sculptural forms using pit-firing and electric firing methods, producing organic surfaces shaped by fire, ash, and chance. Deeply inspired by nature and landscape, my work is also informed by my background in architecture, where proportion, balance, and structure play an important role. Through my ceramics, I explore the relationship between function and sculpture, creating pieces that feel timeless, tactile, and quietly expressive.
Artist information
I am a ceramic artist based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, with a background in architecture. My work is rooted in a love of material, form, and process, and I am drawn to creating pieces that feel honest, tactile, and quietly expressive. I work mainly with stoneware, making both functional ceramics and sculptural forms, often using pit-firing and minimal glazing to allow the natural qualities of the clay to come through.
Alongside my studio practice, I teach pottery to children and adults, sharing a hands-on, process-led approach to working with clay. Nature, texture, and traditional craft strongly influence my work, as does my architectural training, where form follows function. I am interested in the balance between structure and spontaneity, creating pieces that feel timeless and grounded.
