Exhibition information

As a printmaker I combine the techniques of collagraph, drypoint, monoprint and screenprint in my compositions. Themes of pattern, order and sequence are the subject of most of my work and the results can be figurative or non figurative. I am often inspired by wallpaper and fabric designs from the past. Colour is an abiding passion! I am  fortunate to have a garden studio with an etching press, as well as the equipment for screen printing. I also go regularly to Bodenpress  studio  near Tring, where I am a part of the printmaking community there.  My garden studio show will be a mix of framed, unframed prints and homemade cards.

Artist information

Artmaking has been a constant theme in my life.  I took a BA in History of Art upon leaving school and then a BA in Fine Art in mid life.  I began to focus solely upon printmaking when we moved to Thame in 2021, when I established my garden studio. My family background in fabric and wallpaper design (the Silver Studio, 1850s-1930s) has played a huge role in enthusing me to work with themes of pattern and colour.  I feel privileged to now have the time, having retired from life as an early years teacher, to be producing prints alongside enjoying Thame’s busy town life.
