Exhibition information

Painting is an extension of my inner being,  passion and emotions directed on to the canvas.  An energetic process that I try to embrace, as it’s often in moments of critic and doubt that produce the most authentic pieces

This year for Artweek 2026, I’ve taken some older paintings and made some alterations, like the old masters often did, a phenomenon often referred to as a “pentimento”.   Some paintings erased completely, with a new painting on top.   I have discovered re using canvas is beneficial in lots of ways, for example, building layers creates richer textures, which in turn transform to a more vintage  finish.  Re-cycling  feels good for  soul, constantly learning and discovering on this artistic journey.

Artist information

Painting started after a career on the airlines and lockdown forced me to fill my time with something creative. I discovered I had a talent for art after attending a few beginners classes. I have since worked my way through various workshops and masterclasses to become more confident with my work. Although I have experimented with lots of different mediums, oil painting has quickly turned into my passion.  I have since established myself as a portrait artist and now accept commissions.   I also love painting still life, inspired by the Dutch artists, collecting various artefacts then putting that vision onto canvas.

When I am not in my studio, I love yoga, cooking and cycling.
