Banbury Tapestry

Banbury Tapestry In 2006 Banbury celebrated 25 years of twinning with Hennef, in Germany, and a commemorative tapestry has been created depicting life in both towns as well as the Hennef’s other twin towns of Le Pecq, in France, and Nowy Dwor in Poland. Each town has created five metres of tapestry and the Banbury section, designed and stitched by Banbury Embroiderers Guild, features ‘Ride a cock horse’, plus landmarks and events of Banbury’s past and present. The complete tapestry, a wonderful work of art, will be in Banbury during North Oxfordshire Arts Week at St. Mary’s Church, Banbury between 19th May and 9th June.
