The Lure of the Antique
Regarded as the ideal form, Roman antique sculpture and architecture was one of the major inspirations for artists throughout the centuries and still is today. This selection of drawings from the 16th and 17th century reveals how artists, such as Rubens, Claude, Naldini and Pirro Ligorio, have drawn from the antique to develop their own distinct styles and topics.

John Thomson - Say it with Flowers
Following a year-long residency at the University of Oxford Botanic Garden for New Zealand born artist John Thomson, this exhibition presents his finished sculptures alongside a selection of preparatory sketches and continues his long held interest in plant science and classification.

Jeff Clarke - Paintings, Drawings, Etchings
Christ Church Picture Gallery welcomes again an exhibition of works by local Oxford artist Jeff Clarke. His paintings, drawings and etchings focus predominantly on still-life subjects, drawn from around his Oxford studio.

Drawings from Bologna 1500 - 1800 (exact title to be announced)
Bologna was one of the most important centres of Italian art and is particularly known as the cradle for life-drawing. This exhibition will explore Bolognese drawings from Christ Church’s own collection, among them Bartolommeo Passarotti, the Carracci, Guido Reni, Domenichino, Guercino and the only female Old Master in the Christ Church collection Elisabetta Sirani.
