Artweeks concerts
Three Artweeks Artists create a visual response to “Triptych”, music composed by Simon Whalley to commemorate the Artweeks 25th Anniversary. Three celebration concerts are scheduled in collaboration with Springline Arts, featuring the Friedrich Trio (Daniel Rye – clarinet, Jacqueline Johnson, cello and Lynette Stulting, Piano):
- Sunday 13th May - 19:30 at the Jacqueline du Pre Building, Oxford
- Sunday 20th May - 19:30 at Wantage Parish Church
- Saturday 26th May - 19:30 at St Mary’s Church, Banbury
Tickets £15·00 (concessons £11·00, under-18’s £5·00) on the door or in advance at Springline Arts. The artists’ responses will be on show at the Jacqueline du Pre Music Building throughout Artweeks.
Residue at OVADA
Emerging artists exhibit at the OVADA gallery in Oxford. Curated by the gallery, the exhibition will showcase work submitted by invitation from young artists around the county.
Artweeks at the Castle
Oxford Castle hosts a show of Artweeks artists in the Castle Grounds and the O3 Gallery, giving members of the public the opportunity to sample the rich diversity of work that can be seen around the festival. Open daily. For more details call 01865 849371.
Art Forum: Is art useful?

Summertown Street Festival
Live music, street performers, street art and kids fancy dress combine with Summertown artists opening up their Artweeks exhibits for a fun festival for all the family. Saturday 12th May, 11th to 2nd.
Artweeks Walking Tours
“Treasures of the University” 10:00 on 19th and 26th May. Meet at Clarendon Building, Broad Street. Numbers are strictly limited, so please book in advance by calling the Artweeks' office on 01865 849371
Jaffe & Neale, Chipping Norton
A showcase of work from local Artweeks artists at this bookshop, café and art gallery, Middle Row, Chipping Norton. 30th April to 3rd June, 11th to 5th.
Children’s Workshops
Oxford Castle
- Drawing Rhymes of Fishes & Wishes with Korky Paul and poet John Bush. Write & draw something fishy with the dazzling duo who created “The Fish Who Could Wish” and “Mr Crookadile.” 2nd June (2nd to 3rd) and (15:30-16:30). Tickets £3·00. Family Ticket £10·00.
- Spoon Race with Francesca Shakespeare. Make a wooden spoon face. Drop in, no need to book. 20th May (14:30-16:30).

The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock
- Tudor-inspired workshops for children & families Kids Club (8-12 years) 30th May (10th-12th & 14:00-16:00). Create a self portrait in Tudor style, inspired by the Ditchley portrait of Queen Elizabeth I. 29th and 31st May free family ‘drop in’ activities.
