Rahima Kenner OAS OPC
Rahima trained in painting and printmaking at University of Reading (BA Hons in FIne Art) under Sir Terry Frost .
Further Studies at Central St Martins School of Art (London Institute) also introduced her to Cecil Collins teaching on Life drawing and traditional painting techniques
Rahima makes a range of works using the intaglio press - copper plate etchings in monochrome or colour, as well as colourful monoprint paintings.
She taught art and art history in secondary schools in London and Banbury, followed by part-time tutoring in adult education in Oxford and Abingdon Further Education Colleges .
Rahima has been a member of Oxford Printmakers Cooperative since its early days and exhibits with them. She also tutors short courses in etching. She is a member of Oxford Art Society
Rahima's work has been shown widely at galleries and art fairs and is in private collections ranging from Cap Ferrat to Geneva, London,Paris, Florida, Australia.
An exhibition,of Rahima's prints/painting together with stone carvings by Martin Smith sculptor," Interpreters of Desire" based on the medieval love poems by the Andalusian mystic , Ibn 'Arabi will be showing at ART JERICHO from 13th APRIL to !st MAY - ( music /poetry recital by Vast Earth)
followed by a mixed Artweeks show at Brightwell Vineyard (8th - 17th May), and a city Artweeks show at" Port Meadow Designs" in Walton Street during 21st May to 29th May
